Divorce Care Support Group
Going through a separation and/or divorce can be the most isolating experience you have faced in your life. Friends and family do not seem to understand your feelings of anxiety, guilt, anger and depression. You feel there is no one you can talk to, no one has gone through what you're going through, no one you can trust, no one that will understand.
Garwood Presbyterian Church is here for you.
We offer a weekly Divorce Support Group meeting every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. to help you understand what is happening in your life. We help you recover from the pain and move forward to be a much stronger person.
The Divorce Care program runs for 13 weeks. However our program runs continuously, meaning the series will begin again immediately following the 13th week. New members can join at any time during the series. Current members can repeat the series as often as they need or want to.
Each week our group views a 30-40 minute video covering a specific topic. Topics include: What is happening to me? ; Healing; Facing My Anger; Depression; Loneliness; What Does the Owner's Manual Say? ; New Relationships; Financial Survival; KidCare; Single Sexuality; Forgiveness; Reconciliation; and Moving On, Growing Closer to God.
Time is spent after the video presentation, sharing concerns, fears and/or experiences. All meetings are strictly confidential. No one judges another member and no one repeats what is shared in our group.
