The Different Spiritual Gifts
Found In Romans 12:4-8, I Corinthians 12:1, 4-12, 27-31, and Ephesians 4:7-16
And According to Their Meaning From Their Greek Words
Apostle: one who is sent overseas by God with a commission = a missionary today.
Contributing to the Needs of Others: giving one's material things and money to others.
Discerning of Spirits: to be able to tell whether God's Spirit, an evil spirit, or a person's own spirit is in control.
Evangelist: the ability to proclaim the good news or gospel about Jesus Christ.
Exhorting or Encouraging: to urge, challenge, warn, and to comfort, console.
Faith: to have conviction and confidence that God will do a certain thing, and to do one's part in bring-ing it about. Different from saving faith; a faith that can "move mountains".
Governing, Administration: to direct and guide the people of God where He wants them to go.
Healing: the ability to make people healthy and whole in their body, mind, and spirit.
Helping Others: to personally assist and support another person, especially in their ministry.
Interpretation of Tongues (Another Language): to understand and make known a message spoken in tongues of a language you do not know.
Leading: to be in a position of authority and lead the church.
The Operation of Powers (Miracles): to have the power of God work through oneself into an outward, external expression that accomplishes God's will in miraculous ways.
Prophesying: to speak God's word, whether to warn, challenge, strengthen, encourage, or comfort.
Serving: to serve others; personal service to others as a servant.
Pastor (Shepherd): to care for, take care of, and nurture God's people.
Showing Mercy: to feel compassion for others, especially in difficulty, so that one does acts of mercy.
Speaking in Kinds of Tongues (Another Language): to speak in a language, whether of heaven or earth, not known to you.
Teaching: to convey, give, and extend to others one's Christian faith and understanding.
A Word of Knowledge: to receive knowledge from God not known by you and then let it be known to others.
A Word of Wisdom: to know how to apply God's truth to a person's situation and then let them know this.
