ACTS 13
Acts 13 and 14 comprise what is usually called the first missionary journey of Paul.
- How did Barnabas and Saul (Paul) get chosen to take the gospel to other places and people? What part did the church at Antioch have in this? (13:1-2) How did the church support them for their mission? (13:3) How can what the church did then be applied by us today?
- Paul confronts Elymas, calling him "a child of the devil" among other things, and prophesies his punishment by God. (13:6-12) When is it right for us to confront people?
- What stands out to you about Paul's message at the synagogue in Pisidian Antioch? (13:14-41)
- What does Paul say in his message that is the key to our doing everything the Lord wants us to do? (13:22) Is this true for you?
- How does Paul present the gospel of the good news about Jesus to them? (13:23-39) How does he make it personal to his listeners? (13:38-41) What can you learn from this for your own witnessing efforts?
- What was his listener's response at first? (13:42-43) What was their response later? Why? (13:44-45)
- What was Paul and Barnabas' response to them? (13:46-47) What happened after this? (13:48-52)
