HOW TO FORGIVE AND BE MERCIFUL

  1. Receive Divine Help Through the Holy Spirit By Being a Christian
    Zechariah 4:6, John 15:5, Gal. 5:22-23
Our human nature does not want to forgive. We need God's help to do this.
  2. Forgive Others Because God Has Forgiven You
    Mat. 18:21-35, Luke 6:27-37, Ephesians 4:32
The more real God's forgiveness is in our own life, the easier it is for us to forgive others.
  3. Read Scripture And Be Convinced God Wants You To Be Merciful and Forgive
    Hosea 5:6, Mat. 5:21-22, 5:43-48, 6:12, 7:1-5, 18:21-35, Rom.12:14, Eph.4:1-2
If I don't forgive, I am the one now sinning.
  4. Pray For The Person You Need To Forgive
    Matthew 5:43-44, Luke 6:27
Keep praying, and eventually you will be able to forgive them.
  5. Release Your Hurt and Pain
    Psalm 69:16-18, 29-30, 33-34, Psalm 142:1-2, 5-7, Phil.3:13-14, Heb.12:15
Let go of it to God, "Stop playing the tape," and let His healing love take its place.
  6. Find Something Good You Have Received Out of the Difficulty
    Gen. 45, John 15:1-4, Rom. 5:3-4, 8:28, llCor.1:3-9, Phil. 1:29-30, James 1:2-4, I Pet. 4:1-2, 12-19
"We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.", Romans 8:28.
  7. Realize That If You Don't Forgive, God Will Not Forgive You, Blocking Your Prayers and Relationship With God
    Matthew 5:22-23, 6:12,14-15, Mark 11:25, Gal. 5:19-21, James 2:13
By forgiving, we improve our relationship with God.
  8. Not Forgiving Gives Ground To Satan In Your Life
Example: Hurting people often hurt other people. When we don't forgive, but stay hurt and angry, the anger often comes out inappropriately toward other people. The evil done to us continues through us to other people.
    II Cor.2:10-11, Eph.4:26-27
When we forgive, we keep Satan out of our life.
  9. If You Don't Forgive, You Cannot Call Yourself a Loving Person
    ICor.13:4-7, I Peter 4:8
When we forgive, we are a loving person.
  10. To Receive Mercy, We Must Give Mercy
    Matt.5:7, 6-14, Luke 6:37-38
    By forgiving, we receive mercy.
  11. Leave Vengeance Up To God
    Rom.12:17,19
"'I will repay,' says the Lord."

WHEN WE DON'T FORGIVE, WE RUIN OUR OWN LIFE.
WHEN WE DO FORGIVE, WE LIVE IN GOD'S WILL AND RECEIVE HIS BLESSINGS.

"BLESSED ARE THE MERCIFUL, FOR THEY WILL BE SHOWN MERCY."
