Receiving God's Love

Deuteronomy 7:9-12, John 15:9-10, Ephesians

The Following Helps Us Receive God's Love The Following Hinders Us from Receiving God's Love
1. Having Faith and Trusting in the Lord Letting Difficult Circumstances Get to Us
2. Giving to Others Getting for Ourself
3. Serving Others Living for Ourself
4. Obeying God Disobeying God
5. Forgiving Staying Angry
6. Hoping in the Lord Being Depressed
7. Believing that God Loves You
& Being with Other Christians
Being Lonely
8. Trusting in the Lord with All our Heart Living in Fear
9. Confessing our Sins and Repenting Feeling Guilty
10. Forgiving Ourself and
Putting our Hope in the Lord
Feeling like a Failure
11. Worshipping God from our Heart Not Worshipping God
12. Being Humble and Vulnerable Protecting Ourself with Pride
13. Talking with God in Prayer Ignoring God
14. Learning and Following God's Word Forgetting God's Word

Rate yourself on each of the fourteen things above that will either help you to receive God's love or hinder you from receiving God's love. Put a mark on each line as though it were a sliding scale. After this, look over and determine your one, two, or three weakest areas where your marks are the furthest to the right on the lines. If you change those areas of your life by doing those things it says on the left of those lines, you will receive more of God's love in your life.

And God wants you to receive more of his love, and more, and more. There is no limit to God's love for you. So you are encouraged to choose to do those things that will enable you to receive more and more of God's love, and especially in your one or two or three weakest areas above. Will you do that? The choice is up to you. Choose life and choose to receive more of God's love.
