Using a Fleece or Faith?
Gideon's Faith and Failures
Judges 6:33-40 and James 1:5-8
- The fleece Showed Gideon's Doubt of God Instead of the Faith He Should Have Had
- This Was In Spite of the Spirit of the Lord Coming Upon Him and Him Becoming a Leader
- When we become a Christian, all our problems do not go away.
- Our problems stay with us until we take them to the Lord so that He can work on them with our cooperation.
- Is Doubt OK or Bad?
- Many people think doubt is OK.
- The following Scriptures show that doubt is bad.
- Mat. 14:31
- Mat. 21:21-22
- Mark 11:22-24
- Mat. 28:17
- Luke 24:37
- John 20:24-29
- Romans 14:23
- James 1:5-8
- Gideon Had Doubt, Yet God Did Not Reject Him
- God had mercy and worked with Gideon.
- The same is true for you. See Jude 22.
- A good prayer - "Jesus, I do believe; help me over-come my unbelief!" See Mark 9:14-27.
- How to Remove Doubt and Have More Faith
- Fill yourself with the Word of God, Romans 10:17.
- Get together with other Christians, Hebrews 10:25.
- Worship in Spirit and truth, John 4:23.
- Pray. Answers to prayer increase our faith.
- Serve the Lord, carrying out your faith.
- Tell others what Jesus has done for you.
Conclusion - If you have faith, you don't need a fleece! See II Cor. 5:7, Romans 1:17, and Gal. 2:20.
